Once you’ve paid your deposit, you will receive access to the Pre-Departure Guide, which contains everything you need to prepare for your Happy Travel journey.

This guide includes contact information for your Travel Team, made up of a Travel Manager and Travel Concierge who will support you throughout your trip.

It also includes important information such as:

  • Arrival and departure details

  • On-the-ground transportation and airport pick-up

  • A sample daily schedule

  • Accommodation and meal information

  • Vaccination requirements and recommendations

  • Pre-departure healthcare guidance

You’ll also receive helpful travel preparation information including recommended clothing, communication options such as phone and data plans, charging adapters, and a packing list.

The guide also provides useful information about Ghana, including climate, culture, customs, safety tips, currency, public holidays, and even a short language introduction to help you connect with local communities.

Booking a Happy Travel experience begins with a consultation.

Simply fill out our consultation form, and one of our Happy Travel team members will contact you to help plan your journey.

Give Basic Needs does not provide travel insurance, but travel insurance is required for all Happy Travel participants.

We recommend providers such as World Nomads, which offer coverage for international travel.

Travelers must be able to receive the Yellow Fever vaccination, which is required for entry into Ghana.

Since the vaccine can be administered to individuals 9 months and older, anyone above that age may participate in Happy Travel.

We will make sure you receive updates and photos showing the impact of your generosity and the happiness created through Small Acts. Big Happy.

Travel can create carbon emissions, and many travelers choose to offset their environmental impact through carbon credits.

While Give Basic Needs does not currently offer carbon offset programs directly, we recommend trusted organizations such as Terrapass, which can help calculate and offset your travel footprint.

Our team appreciates travelers who take steps to care for the planet.

Happy Travel experiences are designed as curated packages to ensure a meaningful and well-organized journey.

However, if you would like to extend your stay in Ghana after the 6-night Happy Travel experience, your Travel Concierge can assist with arranging additional activities and accommodations within Ghana.

If you plan to travel to another country after your trip, you will be responsible for organizing those additional travel arrangements independently.

Yes!

Happy Travel welcomes both individual travelers and groups.

There is no limit to group size, although a separate donation is required for every two participants.

If multiple donations are made, your Travel Team will coordinate Giving Event Celebrations for each donation so that every act of generosity creates meaningful impact.

We accept most major credit cards as well as selected cryptocurrencies.

The Registration Fee is valid for one trip and is non-refundable, but it can be used to reschedule your travel within one year of the originally agreed travel date.

Your personal donation is also non-refundable. However, your donation will still be used to provide basic needs for people in need. If you are unable to attend the trip, we will share photos and updates showing the happiness your generosity created.

The travel package itself may be refundable depending on the timing of cancellations and reservation policies from hotels or travel providers.

Yes.

Once your Registration Fee has been paid, your Travel Concierge will guide you through the process of obtaining your Ghana travel visa and provide information on vaccination and immunization requirements.

Absolutely!

Happy Travel experiences can be gifted to friends, family members, or colleagues.

Simply fill out the consultation form and let the Happy Travel team know that you would like to gift the experience to someone else.
